What's in a Cup of Tea?

How do you like your tea?

Some people like just plain ole SOUTHERN sweet tea. Some people like a little honey or a little lemon in theirs, but not me....

Aside from my severe Coca~Cola addiction, I also have a overwhelming fondness for HOT TEA.  My favorite being Bigelow's Constant Comment.  I buy mine at either WalMart or any grocery store right where the tea bags and coffee are shelved.

Hot Tea....
Its just something that soothes your soul. It's like a hug from a long lost friend, a high- five for an accomplishment, warm fuzzy covers or a comfy old quilt when your cold, it even mimics momma's love when your sick...it's just pure comfort in a cup.  My favorite at the moment is the Bigelow's Constant Comment, just because it was the first kind I had ever had, thanks to my wonderful mother:) She introduced me to hot tea as a teenager and my first cup was the Constant Comment.  We always enjoyed our "tea times" together...and still do.  I had forgotten about the Constant Comment until a few weeks ago when i saw it at the store. Of course I couldn't resist. I also enjoy Peppermint/Vanilla Spice, Chammomile, and of course Apple Cinnamon.  I am not to much a fan of the Earl Grey or "Breakfast" teas...way to bland and strong for me...

ANYWAY..
Back to the subject though...

Hot Tea brings back a flood of memories. It reminds me of special moments with my mom, my Nannie (Hayes), and my Great Aunt Nelma. They were/are all so prim and proper..very dainty ladies. All of them enjoy hot tea and it seems to have been something shared down even through us younger generations.  It makes me smile.  With a sip, I can still see my sweet Nannie's face with her little smirky grin and her little hands held up in the air  shrugging her shoulders...and hear my lovely Aunt Nelma's voice say "Now, Mandi...." (haha)...and of course, my mom...just the scent brings echos of my mothers laughter over a discussion we once had over tea about "Doilies"...LOL that always makes me laugh.

This is why, if you read my FaceBook statuses...I always say, " ahhhhh Constant Comment, you are my dearest friend". One cup reminds me of all I should be thankful for esp. my sweet family, one cup reminds me that I am loved, one cup brings back so many wonderful memories that make me grateful for the wonderful women in my life who have and continue to be my greatest influences:)
